It was inevitable.  I could have done it yesterday, but restrained  
myself.

i use emacs on Win32 a lot.  Unlike a lot of GNU bloatware, emacs is  
pretty damn speedy these days.

But true to its backronym, firing it up on OS X, it does eat almost  
eight megs with only the two standard buffers open.

ERC is kind of a pain in the ass.  A lot of the features you'd expect  
in an IRC client are missing.  Reading mail in emacs is almost as bad  
as using Pine, except Pine has better IMAP skillz.
