So we should just ignore what the implications could be and focus on
what the corporations in favour of this movement are citing as their
reasoning for wanting this power?

Where does the city of Norfolk get its internet connection from for
libraries? If it's a corporation then heypresto they'd have the same
issues as any other customer.

The whole point here is that the corporations in charge of the
connections should not be making those decisions - the people paying
for them should be. If i want a connection that filters porn then i
should by all means be able to pay for one. But i shouldn't be forced
to have it filtered for me just because the CEO of Cox finds Jesus (or
Allah or whatever) and decides that my 5-hours-a-day of porn is not
good for my soul. Or maybe, instead, he makes a deal with Microsoft to
QOS google.com to death in an attempt to force bing.com to actually
get a few hits?
