Also, Kelly's (and every other potential dinner meetup spot) is MUCH  
busier on Friday nights - the management won't take kindly to 15 nerds  
taking up half a section for 6 hours.  On Thursday nights, they're  
typically dead after 7pm, so they don't mind at all.
Also: Friday nights are for drinking with friends, not geekery :)
