Reader is here, and the board has a tone generator and SMD LED on the board, now the reader chip covers the LED, but the board breaks out the leads to 0.1" spaced through hole solder points, so we can do what ever we want with the output.

The board I have uses a FTDI FT232RL to provide serial <-> USB connection. The chip does RS232 9600 8N1 for serial.
