Along these lines where are we thinking of readers? Obviously a reader + keypad on the front door. Exit reader on the back door and side door? (I doubt they'll want us messing with the side door in terms of messing with the locks). Badging in through the back door would be nice if we could limit it only to people who we don't mind having access to the "storage and dangerous tools" room.

If the prices aren't hugely disproportionate i wouldn't mind shelling out a little extra cash _if_ there are features that warrant it on the more expensive models.
