Greetings guys.
I want to reach out to some of you to inquire about the true viability
of putting a Panasonic Toughbook CF-30, or above, motherboard with core
2 duo processor, or better, into a cf-29 chassis.
They both seem to be identical, with the exception of having certain
drive bays on opposing sides, so I was wondering how many of your have
had a chance to tinker with said hardware in the past.
I just picked up a cf-29, and while it is still pretty b....chin I would
love to have the extra-low voltage associated with the newer Intel
mobile processor(s).
I would also like to inquire about the best ways to make a stencil for
the magnesium case components, since i am going to have to open this
thing up to replace the touch pad, which is fully functional, however,
has some obvious latency in the touch response, so I plan to replace it.
I have the service manuals and all, so unless I see a red flag that will
cause me to feel that they hardy nature of the toughbook will make this
disassembly too big a pain in the keaster, then I will be looking to
make a Marine Subdued Digital Pattern stencil for the disassembled
pieces that are currently powder-coated silver.
Any thoughts on these two project ideas would be very much appreciated.
