Ahh, well it seems the Fall is here and has gathered us upon the mall in lieu of ramblings and blabberings of nerdom. In fact, as this meeting went along, topics not normaly discussed surfaced. In attendance was Tele Monster, Sunpuke, Andrew, Remad, Dave, Jon, and myself. Jon showed up, in hopes that he would find others to geek around with. It seems Jon has been to another 2600 meeting at Lynnhaven, and met up with another person as well. But that meeting never found the other 2600 meeting (as none of us seem to remember his attendance, and meetings tend to nab more than two attendees). So it seems logical that, at one time, there was two concurrent 2600 meetinigs at Lynnahven, which has happened, in my recollection, one other time. However, that aforementioned meeting did find the other group, and a fusion of two-to-one became of that situation. Jon brought tons of locksport related gear. It must have seemed quite obscure for a bunch of dudes to be hanging out, talking the talk, and trying to bust open an assortment of locks, with little signs of a proper keying device. Of course other topics were discussed, choice vs life, type of stuff, which might be a first at the meeting. We did have mention of moving the meet to Pembroke Mall, just a few miles away from the beach area. If such were to occur a potential transition in January seems reasonable. Any feedback regarding such is welcome.

Wow, we held the fort till the mall locked us in! In attendance this month was (clockwise from my sitting position): Andrew, Sunpuke, Remad, Walcy, Tele, Dave, Ninja Gumby, and myself. So what was discussed one might ask?

Imagine a bunch of minds set on pseudo-random. Let the neurons collide with those thoughts of others and see what surfaces. One might be surprised that a chain of thoughts based on memory-less state might surface (i.e. Markov Chain), however I do believe that the previous states have a slight influence on further topics, as is the case when some strong comics perform. In other words, it seems talented comics will make a joke and then refer to that past hilarity to increase the effect of a more recent joke (e.g. not really memory-less). In fact, there was so much discussion that keeping track of such, is really outside the scope of these summaries, and possibly a cop-out so no one has to take notes. It is just hangin’ out. We do not impose subjects for conversation, we let the potential randomness of our neurons decide what should be talked about. What’s interesting though, is that no one seems to carry any kinda of paper or writing device. Such seems to be a limited quantity amongst the attendees this month, as Andrew found out.

That’s right, its time once again to spread the corruption of scary hackerdom amongst the populace, and impregnate the youth with ideas of ohh so spooky hacker stuff. Ok, that’s not what the meeting is about, and the term hacker, is not a rant I’m about to even get into. In other words, this meeting, as it has always been, is about hanging out, meeting people, and dorking-out.

The meeting was quite plentiful of regulars. Of the aforementioned, the attendance consisted of Tele, Dave, Andrew, Remad, Sunpuke, and myself. The mall was fairly chill, not too many annoyances, this can be attributed to two factors one of which was the loooming tropical storm Hanna, whom was not poised to really “hit” the area until 2AM, and the other was the fact that schools have gone back in session. Either way, it was a great dork out. What was talked about? Well since its free-form, pseudo random babblings. And “babblings” should not be taken in a negative context.

“A great meeting it was, as nerds descended on the mall.” Ohh wait, hold on, that sounds reminiscent of the mantra devoted to pimping the Last HOPE conference, which just concluded earlier in July. HOPE was of conversation this month at the meeting, as was other topics. Talk of photography(the old-school film method), digital communication with an internal measurement unit, radar detectors, radar detector detectors and radar detector detector detector detectors. There is really only so much recursion that can occur with such devices, and it is probably sufficient to say that once you are detecting devices made to detect you, the recursion can stop. Dave and Sun both made words of visual identification of biological material. The meeting ended with a browse of Barnes and Nobel.

In attendance was Sunpuke, Telemonster, Andrew, Dave, and myself.
